Answering-Ansar Article:

Shi’a Usool al-Deen (Revision: 1.0.0)

It is mentioned in the work ‘Shi’a Usool al-Deen’ found on Answering-Ansar:

Quoting Answering-Ansar:
It’s also written that Yaqoob held his brother feet’s in mercy, and when he had power he fought with GOD. (God Forbid)

These absurd accounts of GOD, can only be deemed to be fairy tales, Allah (swt) is all above all of these attributes, that the Jews and Christians have sought to ascribe to Him. Sadly if we examine Islam we will find that these same absurd beliefs are prevalent amongst the vast bulk of Islamic Sects, they believe that Allah (swt) has a physical body like humans have, that He (swt) has for e.g. Blood, Ears, Hands, legs etc. We read in ‘Al Milal wa al Nahal’ by Imam of Ahl’ul Sunnah Abdul Kareem Sharastani that Abu Dawood Zuhri and his followers adhered to this type of belief.

This work, in actuality, is the English translation of Answering-Ansar’s mentor `Abd al-Karīm Mushtāq’s book, Uşūl-i Dīn, published and promoted on Answering-Ansar with additional notes.

However, it should be known that there is no one by the name of “Abu Dawood Zuhri.” This, in fact, is a result of the Answering-Ansar team’s lack of knowledge about major Islamic scholars because Mushtāq himself has mentioned the name in his original work as “Abū Dāwūd al-Žāhirī.” But ignorance is not limited to a single individual when it comes to Shī`ī pseudo-polemicists, for he is Abū Sulaymān Dāwūd ibn `Alī al-Işfahānī al-Žāhirī (d. 275), not Abū Dāwūd as mentioned by Mushtāq.

Now, the question is, did Muĥammad ibn `Abd al-Karīm al-Shahrastānī (d. 548) state or relate that al-Žāhirī believed Allāh (swt) has a human-like physical body in al-Milal wa al-Niĥal?

No, this is an outright lie.

As a matter of fact, al-Shahrastānī clearly states the complete opposite about al-Žāhirī in al-Milal. He says:

“As for Aĥmad ibn Ĥanbal, Dāwūd ibn `Alī al-Işfahānī and a group of Imāms from the predecessors, they took the methodological course of the early predecessors from the people of narrations—such as Mālik ibn Anas and Muqātil ibn Sulaymān—and followed the safe path.

They said: ‘We believe in whatever is mentioned in the Book and the Sunna, and we do not come to grips with the interpretation; after we certainly know that Allāh, the Powerful and Exalted, does not resemble anything from the creation and that all what is portrayed in imagination is created and foreordained.’

And they used to guard themselves from anthropomorphism to such a degree, that they said: ‘Whosoever moved his hand during the recitation of His statement: ‘…I created with My hands?’ [38:75] or pointed with his two fingers during his narration: ‘The heart of the believer is between two fingers of the Merciful,’ his hand should be cut and his two fingers removed.”

  • al-Milal wa al-Niĥal, of Muĥammad ibn `Abd al-Karīm al-Shahrastānī (d. 548), volume 1, page 104 [Beirut]

It is clear from the quote above that al-Shahrastānī does not state that al-Žāhirī believed Allāh (swt) has a human-like body or anything to that effect, but he rather states that al-Žāhirī was against anthropomorphism.

There is no doubt that Mushtāq—whose dishonesty has been uncovered earlier as well—has lied about al-Milal wa al-Niĥal. This evidently demonstrates how truthful and reliable is the information promoted in the works of Shī`ī propagandists, and particularly on Answering-Ansar.

It is only Allah (swt) who gives success, and blessings and peace be on the Seal of the Prophets, his Pure Progeny and his Noble Companions
