SoA quotes:
There is an interesting Narration in Urdu version of Musnad Ahmad, 5/92, Narration 11267, and It states
Ibn Umar came to Abu Sa’eed and asked Him that I have heard that You have done Bay’at of Two Amirs before Nation could gather on One? He replied: Yes, I had done Bay’at of Ibn Zubair, but then People of Syria came and took me by force to Army of Ibn Dalja, so I had to give Bay’at. Ibn Umar said: I fear this, I fear this.
Brother Hani explained in a previous article, based on the book of Faysal Noor, that taqiyyah is permissible in the eyes of Ahl Al-Sunnah in matters of life and death. Refer to that article here.
Even though we do not have an issue with such a concept, we would like to make it known that the above narration is weak because of Bishr bin Harb. He was weakened by Ibn Al-Madeeni, Yahya bin Sa’eed, Ahmad, Ibn Ma’een, Ibn Sa’ad, Sulaiman bin Harb, Abu Dawud, Al-Ijli, Al-Uqaili, Abu Ahmad Al-Hakim, Ibn Khirash, and Ibn Hibban.
